What we present this time is one of the results of our experiment to deliver on a cross-platform player for viewing or showing omni-directional motion pictures in an affordable manner. In fact, the experiment had been carried out through the end of last year to the beginning of this year without producing any positive finding to show holistic advantage over the Flash™ approach. However, we still see some level of opportunity where the the Java™ catches up with Flash when it comes to improve their capabilities especially in media handling and its integrated development environment or NetBeans™. This applet uses Java3D, JMF, and OpenGL.
